Grazer of the Week 7th June; Houdini the Hebridean Sheep

NWWT Coronation Meadows Grazing hebridean sheep Houdini grazer of the weekOur Grazer of the Week this week is Houdini the Hebridean Sheep.

Houdini and field mate Steve McQueen (can you guess what they have been up to lately?) are an important part of North Wales Wildlife Trusts management work at Bridge Craft Meadow, a Coronation Meadow near Holt.

Bridge Craft Meadow is a receptor site for locally sourced wildflower seeds from one of the Trusts nearby nature reserves, Old Pulford Brook Meadows. The meadow is being managed as a best-practise example of a low intensity flood plain meadow. A local grazier has provided two hebridean sheep, who have been helping with the necessary grazing on the site.

As you can probably tell from their names, they kept the land managers busy with a foiled escape attempt recently! They are now safely back on site and continuing their good work.
