Pollinator Survey

You can carry out the survey in your garden, on your farm or when out on your daily walk. 

You should choose a warm and preferably sunny day any time from April through to August. Download the survey sheet and complete the details. 

Then simply choose a patch of grassland, hedgerow or grass verge with flowers select one type of flower i.e. buttercup, thistle, daisy and count how many insects visit these flowers in a timed 5-minute period.

Try count insects by type e.g. bees, butterflies, beetles etc. You can download an identification help sheet here: English Insect Guide

Please take photographs of the flowers and insects with your phone, table or camera.

Wildflower Spotter Survey

You can carry out the survey in your garden, on your farm, or when out for your daily work. 

You can do this anytime between April and September as different flowers will be in bloom. 

Simply, download the survey sheet and look for the flowers. Tell us where you first saw the flower by writing the habitat code in the box next to the flower.

Please take photographs of the flowers with your phone, tablet or camera.

If you can scan or photograph your completed sheets please send them with your photographs to the Dolau Dyfi Project Office Richard.jones@pontcymru.org
