Lots of people have engaged in arts activities and events funded by the project over the last 3 years. Ennyn CIC did fantastic work out and about enthusing people about native wildflowers, talking to people to learn about local history and working with artists and children to create wonderful resources and put on live performances to inspire and enjoy

Resources

The project team is grateful for all those that got involved and we have shared the resources throughout this website including:

The interactive Map

Created by Ennyn, you can find this on the project home page. Click on the icons to re-visit some of the activities such a films, music and pictures using the sound, video, walks and wildflowers. This film links to the book.

Three Short Walks in the Dyfi Biosphere / Tair Taith Gerdded Fer Ym Miosffer Dyfi

This wonderful book was also created by Ennyn and it takes you on a journey along 3 local walks, one each at: Dinas Mawddwy, Llanbrynmair and Machynlleth. It is so much more than a walking guide as it includes local stories packed with information about local culture, history and nature. Each walk has hand drawn illustrations including a that will map to help you find your way.  There are helpful tips on how to keep livestock, crops, wildlife and yourself safe when walking in the countryside.

The beautiful postcards created from drawing produced by children at Ysgol Bro Idris and Ysgol Llanbrynmair

Videos created by Ennyn that show you how to create your own wildflower collage, pollinator mask or wildflower loom.

PUBLIC EVENTS

Working with schools – from 2020 to 2022, Ennyn CIC worked closely with 3 schools in the area: Ysgol Bro Idris in Dinas Mawddwy, Ysgol Llanbrynmair and Ysgol Bro Hyddgen in Machynlleth.

The engagement with pupils started with online workshops in summer 2020. After restrictions eased 8 activities were organised at schools and the pupils had fun at school and out and about learning about their local wildflowers and creating their own art work. Some of their beautiful pictures have been used as postcards, on farm display boards and as large printed posters at events. See if you can find them on various pages of this website.

Wildflower Collage

Pollinator Masks

Wildflower Loom

Be inspired by the beautiful wildflowers around you and create a wildflower loom.

Use our video (created by ENNYN C.I.C) to help you get started and see what you can create. Remember to only take a small handful of flowers and only if there are enough as the pollinators need them too!

Take a photo of your creation and pop it in the comments, we’d love to see it. Don’t forget you can help us to explore the Dolau Dyfi project area by completing our wildflower survey – you can even do it at the same time as you collect your wildflowers for the loom!

Please pick wild flowers responsibly. Only take a few at a time. Pick flowers from your own garden or land, or from hedgerows and road verges. NEVER pick wild flowers from private land or protected sites. If you are unsure contact PONT.
