Starting salary: £23,000 pro rata (plus 5% pension contribution)

PONT (Pori, Natur a Threftadaeth – Grazing, Nature and Heritage) is a not-for-profit organisation which exists to encourage and facilitate grazing for the benefit of the wildlife, landscape and cultural heritage of Wales.
To deliver these outcomes, PONT is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and self-motivated mid Wales Officer. The Officer will work with the PONT team to build capacity, knowledge and skills to promote the value of conservation grazing for rural communities and for nature, to stimulate new grazing partnerships and embed conservation grazing as an effective natural resource management tool for the future.
The Regional Development Officers will:
- Work with the local farming community, land managers and conservation organisations in their regions, to build capacity to foster and nurture local grazing solutions which address local issues.
- Bring together all the interested parties and develop local partnerships and initiatives, to facilitate the development and delivery of sustainable conservation grazing through the establishment of partnership projects and delivery of individual site based solutions.
- Engage with local communities, develop the skill base, share best practice, work with existing providers to build grazing advice into the farm advisory system and support the development of funding bids for practical projects that are identified locally.
