Boer goats Taliesen and his brother Brynmor have spent the last year preventing scrub encroachment on wildflower meadows on the Gower Peninsula. Their favourite snacks are bramble and sea buckthorn!
Goats are great additions to a grazing management plan. They like a wide range of plants and particularly enjoy plants that other grazers may not touch.
They have very flexible lips and so they can select out particular plants. They are also excellent climbers and can stand on their hind legs to reach tasty morsels!
The boys have done a great job managing the hedgerows through last years growing season and now they are busy enjoying cwtches at Swansea Community Farm for a while.
