I’m a 5th generation farmer, married to a farmer’s daughter, with two sons who are involved in the family farm. Our interest in ecology-friendly farming started in the mid 1990s when we put sheep on Kenfig (NNR, SSSI, SAC ) with the aim of expanding our sheep flock. We now graze Kenfig with both cattle and sheep, plus Merthyr Mawr Warren and Margam Moors with cattle. This experience has given me an insight into the issues of managing the livestock on environmentally important sites in semi-urban areas with large visitor numbers while still trying to make a living.
